C2 Paint's 2024 Color of the Year Is Simultaneously Calming and Energizing

Today, C2 Paint announces its 2024 Color of the Year, Thermal, a darling light blue, along with two other complementary hues—Brulee and Marshland—as part of their 2024 Color Capsule.

"C2 Thermal reminds us of a vast blue sky and the infinite array of blue hues nature offers to help restore and redefine our mood," said Philippa Radon, interior design and C2 Paint color specialist, in a press release. "This bespoke pale yet punchy blue is poised for adventure and brimming with hope, evoking feelings of loyalty, trust, and confidence. Its contradictory nature has the dual ability to uplift us and provide a sense of calm and tranquility."

According to C2 Paint's press release, acknowledging sustainability, conscious living, and our interdependence with nature is the intention of this water and air-inspired shade. While a color this delicate may inspire feelings of serenity and calm, Thermal is all about contrasting emotions colliding: the shade envokes invigoration and energy but its soothing undertones make this color perfectly versatile.

Light blue shades are no stranger to being featured in homes and Thermal is no exception. Radon tells The Spruce that Thermal works best on ceilings and cabinetry and in laundry spaces or pantries, children's spaces, and meditative areas.

A Complementary Color Capsule

Debuting alongside the 2024 Color of the Year is C2 Paint's 2024 Color Capsule, featuring two other shades that perfectly complement Thermal. The choice of these two color capsule colors is, like Thermal, inspired by the harmony seen in nature.

Brulee isn't exactly yellow or cream, but what C2 Paint describes in their press release as an intersection of soft apricot and honeyed vanilla.
