While designers are pros at keeping their eyes peeled for new products for themselves and their clients, they also have plenty of tried and true favorites, too. We spoke with 16 designers and asked them to weigh in on the home products that they know they'll be keeping for the long haul—and what makes these pieces so great.

Horti ZZ Plant
"Houseplants are a great investment! They're versatile, so you can take them from house to house if you move, and they bring so much life and movement to a space. If you're a beginner and are hesitant to spend money on plants, I'd recommend starting with one of these: pothos, zz plant, and snake plant/mother-in-law's tongue. Look up plant care instructions, get familiar with caring for one plant at a time, and build in more plants as you feel comfortable." — Chelsea Evans, founder of Chelsea Evans Designs

It helps add in much needed layers, color, pattern, and texture to a space—and can be moved around between different lamps if you tire of it in one location. I recently added these shades atop of my dining room sideboard lamps and it has made the biggest difference in the room to have these on the lamps!" — Ashley Hanley, founder of Ashley Hanley
