Today, HGTV Home® by Sherwin-Williams announces its 2024 Color of the Year, Persimmon, an energetic terracotta, along with its 2024 Color Collection of the Year, Renewed Comfort.

The Renewed Comfort Color Collection consists of 10 shades, ranging from neutrals to bright shades, that embody tranquility, comfort, and rejuvenation. Curated by HGTV Home® by Sherwin-Williams color marketing manager, Ashley Banbury, the collection allows customers to create traditional color combinations with a new twist and give their spaces a feeling of renewed comfort. A Refreshing Color

The 2024 Color of the Year, Persimmon, is the real star of the announcement. Persimmon is a warm, earthy, and energetic terracotta shade that allows customers to add a refreshing touch to their homes.

“Persimmon balances the energy of tangerine with grounded neutral undertones, making it perfect for spaces like living rooms and kitchens as it promotes positive relationships and conversation. The beautiful shade helps rejuvenate a space while bringing unique design visions to life,” Banbury said.

Last year's Color of the Year from HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams made a bold statement. Darkroom, a classic and alluring black, was an unexpected choice but Persimmon is a full pivot from the colors of the past.

"We are transitioning into a time where the home has become a way for personal expression, bringing in shades that are unexpected and comforting," Banbury tells The Spruce. "We have seen these tangerine tones emerging in consumer trends and decor and they are having a larger presence in the home."
