Planning a Quick DIY? Lowe's Just Made It Even Easier

Summer is in full swing, and for many that means getting some home improvement projects done, both inside and outside.

And whether you're an avid DIYer who loves to spend a weekend refreshing your patio or powder bath, or you're a beginner who just needs a quick furniture update, Lowe's is making those home projects even easier.

On July 19, the home improvement giant announced that it is expanding its same-day delivery service nationwide. Eligible orders placed on the Lowe's website or via their app by 2 p.m. local time will be delivered the same day, while orders placed after 2 p.m. will be delivered the next day.

“Utilizing all of our 1,700-plus stores for online delivery and fulfillment is essential to becoming a true omnichannel retailer," said Marvin Ellison, Lowe's chairman and CEO, in a press release.

"Lowe’s knows our customers want fast delivery options and convenient ways to get the products they need across the home—whether it’s preparing the backyard for summer BBQs or getting building materials to the pro’s jobsite on the very same day," Ellison said.

As long as items are in-stock at a local store—i.e. within range for same-day delivery—customers will be able to choose that option at the checkout.

This can be for anything from building materials and tools for those essential DIY projects, or decor, furniture, and seasonal outdoor items, the press release said. And this doesn't just mean more convenience for homeowners, as deliveries can be made to jobsites for contractors and construction workers, making their workday more seamless.

The expansion into nationwide same-day delivery follows Lowe's partnership with OneRail, a delivery management company, which started offering same-day delivery in select markets in 2022.

Same-day delivery is available nationwide now on Lowes.com and the Lowe's app.
