Spring and summer are two of the seasons that beckon people outside the most, so it only makes sense that more dirt, sand, grass, and leaves will find their way into your home. Handheld vacuums and cordless models are helpful to clean up messes when you’re in a pinch, but there are few cleaning tools that get the job done quite like an upright vacuum. If you’ve realized your upright vacuum has seen better days or you don’t have one yet, you’re in luck: You can save $60 at Amazon on one of the top-ranked Shark models we tested thanks to an early Memorial Day sale.

The Shark NV360 Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe Upright Vacuum is approved to use on all kinds of floors, including hardwood, carpet, and tile. It offers multiple ways to use it, thanks to its included upholstery and crevice tools, and it weighs just 15.96 pounds. Most importantly, the vacuum snagged two top spots from our testing. First, we named it the overall Best Upright Vacuum. Then we dove deeper into Shark vacuums specifically, and named it the Best Upright Shark Vacuum after testing many of the brand’s top choices.

Suction is the most important feature of most upright vacuums, and we found that the Shark Navigator delivers. Unsurprisingly, our testing showed that the vacuum’s suction feels the most powerful on hard floors. But it works equally as well on carpeting, especially when picking up hair and debris. However, the one thing to keep in mind about this model is it doesn’t have a self-cleaning brushroll. So, we did find we had to remove some hair that got caught in it by hand, but it was a simple process that only added a few extra minutes. And we still gave the Shark Navigator a 5/5 for its effectiveness.

The other exciting thing about this model is the many ways in which you can use it. We loved its swivel steering and found that it was easy to maneuver, and we also think the way it cleans the edges of floors is impressive. Plus, you can lift away the canister and vacuum furniture, upholstery, and stairs with the included tools. And we do recommend using the attachments in these areas, because we did find it was cumbersome to try to vacuum stairs with the entire unit in one piece.

The dust cup is full-size, so the brand highlights that you shouldn’t have to pause while you’re cleaning in order to empty it—and we can confirm that statement is true. Plus, we found it was simple to unhook the cup from the vacuum, and all of the dirt that was collected cleanly emptied into the trash without any additional effort. This is also helped by the fact that the vacuum has a HEPA filter and is designed with pet owners (and thus, cleaning up pet hair) in mind.

With standout suction, performance, steering, and the included attachments to make vacuuming all of the areas of your home even easier, the Shark Navigator is a steal. While you can, scoop one up for only $160 during this hidden early Memorial Day sale.
